The Training Continues: Low Rise Commercial Fires at the Academy

On Tuesday August 8th CFD firefighters once again traveled to the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank for live fire training as part of our ongoing training programs.

This sessions topic was low-rise commercial fires. This evolution simulated building fires in mixed-use and occupancy buildings. These buildings may be similar to a "main street" type storefront or newer multi-story apartment buildings being built in downtown areas across the region.

20 Firefighters participated in (2) live fire evolutions under the watchful eyes of fire academy instructors.
